Dominic Thomas (Legacy)



Dominic Thomas, better known as “Legacy” from the New Boyz, was born, October 12, 1991, the older of 2 younger siblings. Although Dominic grew up without his biological father, he gained strong support and guidance from positive family and friend role models his mother brought into his life. Dominic's grandfather died when He was 10 years old. His grandfather was one of his strong role models who showed him what it meant to be a leader. Dominic was raised by both his mother and grandparents. Dominic would spend hours reading, drawing and writing poems. As early as age 4 years, Dominic would often sneak passed his bedtime just to read. Interested in rap, Dominic began writing and making beats on his computer. His love for reading and writing brought him into a new found dream for music, in which he expresses today in the New Boyz.

Earl Benjamin (Ben J)



Earl Benjamin, better known as “Ben J” from the New Boyz, was born, October 13, 1991, in Los Angeles, California and began rapping as a young child. When Earl would get into trouble at home, his mother would send him to his room to write a rap about his feelings, who knew that this would be a form of training to bring him where he is today. Earl is the oldest of three younger siblings. Earl grew up without his father and his mother saw the importance of bringing a strong role model into his life. His mother married in 2003, and together they brought a strong family unit, that Earl wanted since he was a child. His mother’s main purpose for supporting Earl’s dream for music was to keep him out of trouble.
